Not the Best? Show Up Anyway.

When I was a kid growing up in Estonia, I had a dream: to sing in our national Song Festival.

If you’ve never heard of it, it’s a breathtaking event. Tens of thousands of people gather to sing in one massive choir. The energy is indescribable — voices rising together in harmony, wrapped in tradition, culture, and deep emotion.

But here’s the thing: you have to audition to get in.

Now… I’m not exactly a great singer. I can manage simple songs, sure, but I was far from the strongest voice in the room.

Still, every Wednesday, I went to choir practice. Voluntarily.
I kept showing up, week after week. Not because I was the best — or even particularly good — but because I really wanted to be there.

And guess what?

We made it.

Our choir was accepted. I stood on that stage with thousands of others, singing my heart out under the open sky. It was powerful. Unforgettable.

That experience never left me.
Years later, when I started my woodworking business, I brought the same mindset with me.

I wasn’t the most experienced. I didn’t have a fancy studio or a big following. But I made a decision:
I would run one workshop every month. And I did. I just kept showing up.

And slowly — sometimes very slowly — it grew.

So if there’s something you’ve been holding back on because you feel like you’re not “good enough” yet… maybe this is your reminder:

Just start. Just show up.
The magic isn’t in being the best.
It’s in being there, consistently, wholeheartedly.

Have you ever had a moment like that — where showing up changed everything?
I’d love to hear your story.
